The Best Time to See a Chiropractor is Today

Chiropractic is here for your health and wellness. Not just to support your healing. We are really good at creating posts on how chiropractic supports you in healing, yet we need to do better to inform you of how chiropractic supports growth, and health.

When we think of health we think of muscle, we think of how we look, our energy maybe, we think of the health of our teeth and our eyes. We know that it is important to brush our teeth multiple times a day and floss and go for wellness checkups at the dentist. Our eyes, we know to care for them with length of time on technology perhaps, the right light for reading, to not put things in our eyes to regular eye exams. We go for medical checks to ensure our blood pressure, and blood work look great. Yet for some reason there is an aversion to caring for our spines like we do other things.


Why?

Your spine, aka your back houses your lifeline – the extension of your brain that controls everything in your body. Even when I type this many dissociate from what that means.

It is easier to care for something and keep it healthy than to care for something that is broken and in some cases limited in its ability to fully repair.

Your spine provides you your posture, your height, the way you move and navigate gravity day to day. The nerves that exit your spine control your muscles, your strength, your reaction time, your ability to perceive and interpret you environment or situation to provide an efficient response.

Your spine houses a huge portion of your sensory system. The cells called proprioceptors held in your spine impact your balance, your coordination, and sent information to your brain on the environment so you can deploy a response.

Your spine also houses branches of your nervous system that can react to the load of life in a way to protect the spine. If you physiology and nervous system is feeling the stress and strain of physical, mental/emotional and chemical or even technical stressors or there’s is a cumulative load the body / spine will respond in a pattern of protection and stop things from moving, place inflammation in the area, sometimes spasm to not allow harm to come to the spinal cord. In chiropractic we call this subluxation. Your body has wisdom beyond human awareness. It is subconscious. The body often holds onto the subluxation until the stress disappears. See we are not designed for chronic stress. We are designed to flee from danger and once the danger dissappears our neurophysiology can let go, or relax.

Our world today may live in chronic stress, or emergency state. Some are addicted to it. Their physiology’s and nervous system never get a long period of time for recovery or reset which makes it hard for the body to repair and replace cells, rest and digest the way it is intended.

Why does everyone need chiropractic today – to help the body reset, release, interference and subluxation so the body can function at its best and heal, rest and digest.
