Experimenting with making small changes to shift your health. Sometime being creative to imagine a new state of health and safely explore a new direction or understanding of health.
Making a connection with your nervous system – interoception – can allow you to notice which patterns of maybe thinking, feeling and acting may add value to improve health and which may be detrimental to health. Making a change involves some work – yet seeing a current pattern that is not adding value or nourishment and moving you away from health can be tiring.
Take a moment and consider if you would like to change either a feeling, behaviour, movement or thought. When you are thinking about it – does the thought alone drain you or excite and energize you? (Drain or deplete can be from the sympathetic/anxiety driven state or dorsal shutdown or both).
Let’s be curious – being curious is a state of being open to consider. Consider the thought, behaviour, feeling or movement as something your can visualize or see. Hold it in your thoughts. Change the perception and image slightly. Change the image in various ways be it colour, sound, energy, temperature, adding or taking away something. What happens to your body or your state in those moments.
Changing ones state or habits has to be a desired – energy giving experience versus something that is draining.
