In order to decrease pain – we must first begin by moving you towards less inflammation with more segmental motion, cervicothoracic and lumbopelvic coupling motion in order to decrease pain and move toward improved spinal health.
When seeking a different health outcome there is intrinsic motivation for this and sometimes external – yet discipline is key.
Chiropractic is about restoring the integrity of your nervous system and spine that runs everything else. If that system has been interfered with for years, don’t be shocked when it takes more than a few visits to shift that systems integrity. My role is to hold individuals accountable to the process of healing – hence plans of care are essential and objective and subjective measures as time goes. Healing takes time.
Rebuilding structure, restoring function, allowing the nervous system to recalibrate – is not instant. My recommendations are ones that show what is necessary – not what is convenient. Most chiropractic clients don’t stay long enough for conclusions or healing to happen because along the way many docs have been scared to share what is required or needed for people to heal. Healing today is so different than 20 or 30 or 5o years ago due to low nutrient density in foods, sleep, habits, striving at work, life stresses, lack of motion like in the past, social media, speed of input into our bodies, and technology. We have made a world to make things easier which has made our bodies weaker.
Healing takes time in everyone. The nervous system needs time to reorganize. The chiropractic adjustment, given with intention, with consistency and clarity – works every time.
If we don’t pressure ourselves to do harder, we do the bare minimum but never dramatically move the needle. It creates an inability to move through discomfort with yourself. We need to change what we have traditionally done to get different results.
One way to make change is setting goals. Writing out your why? Why do you want to be healthy?
Setting PACT goals
Purpose – Your big why you want to change your health?
Action – Living in the Now
Continuous – Consistency to make change
Trackable – Measurement as in SMART goals – is replaced by tracking – effort and progress are monitored to generate a sense of accomplishment. Then compound our complexity in our goals, numbers, strength, posture, then feeling measure what you feel every day. Symmetry flexibility microdetails. Foods meal plan Trust yourself to hit hard things – Set a hard goal and track it – success momentum Change neuroplasticity of the brain – then there is no hard rebalance sleep hormones it takes a while but not impossible. Capacity to have and know achievability to do something difference feel neurologically safe in your environment.
Have the capacity to follow through – gain momentum to move through plateaus now expand next hard goal. nerve system flexibility to be able to challenge system and bounce back
